New Digital Screen Lights Up the Club

Walsham Le Willows Sports Club is pleased to announce the installation of a new digital scoreboard and screen at the ground. This development represents a significant upgrade to our facilities and will benefit cricket, football and the wider community.

The project was orginally the idea of Tara Campbell and has been brought to life with help from Ned Campbell, James French and Mike Powles, who led the planning and coordination from concept to completion.

Alongside the installation of the screen, the club has completed a revamp of the internal network and multimedia systems within the pavilion. This work strengthens the club’s connectivity and improves the reliability of match day scoring, streaming and event presentations. The upgraded infrastructure will also help support future digital improvements as the club continues to grow.

The new screen is designed to support multiple uses throughout the year. During cricket season it will display live scoring through PCS Pro, giving players and spectators clear and accurate match information. For football, it will show match details, team information and full time scores. The addition of this screen improves the match day experience by making live information visible from around the ground, helping supporters stay engaged with the action.

The screen will also be used beyond match days. It creates opportunities for showing major sporting events such as international tournaments, including World Cups and European Championships. It will also support club presentations, fundraising events, community gatherings and social evenings held at the pavilion. The upgraded multimedia setup means the club can now deliver a smoother and more professional experience during these events.

This project has only been possible through the support of several organisations and volunteers.

  • LED House supplied and installed the digital screen.
  • Suffolk Cricket & the ECB provided funding support to help the club invest in modern circket scoring technology.
  • Mid Suffolk District Council contributed funding that enabled the project to move forward and continues to invest in community facilities and local sport.
  • Ian Hubbard Electrical assisted with the network and media infrastructure upgrade

We also thank the volunteers and club members who helped with planning, coordination and preparation on site. Their contribution reflects the strength of our club community.

The digital screen and upgraded infrastructure mark a proud moment for Walsham Le Willows Sports Club. These improvements support senior and junior sport, enhance our events and provide a valuable resource for members and the wider village. We are looking forward to making full use of it throughout the season and at upcoming club gatherings.

We welcome everyone to come along, enjoy the new screen and experience what it brings to the club.
