WALSHAM PÉTANQUE – NEW 2025 SEASON!

After what’s been another generally miserable winter, in a few week’s time Spring should be finally in sight, and so we’ll be very pleased to be starting up again for the new season.

So, as from 20th March – the official first day of Spring – we’ll be back to our weekly Thursday afternoon sessions from 2pm onwards at our special pétanque terrain by the grand oak trees at the Walsham Sports Club, Summer Rd.

We currently have a small core of regular players, but we would very much welcome a few more and will consider having a further weekly session for those who are not available on Thursdays. For example, if it were on summer Sundays at the Sports Club, there would also be cricket going on and the likelihood of the Bar being open, and so it would make a general convivial atmosphere for all. However, we first need to hear from you as to what your preferences would be.

I still intend to arrange some friendly games with other local village teams, but first we need to get swiftly back into our seasonal regime, get a bit of practice in, and hopefully, welcome some new members.

Meanwhile, we would be very pleased to hear from anyone new who would be interested in coming along. Our weekly sessions are very informal, and no previous experience in pétanque is necessary – we’re all there just to have a relaxed time.
