60 Glorious Years.

Today was 60 years since Eric and Carol got married, what an achievement. Carol and Eric Hubbard have been involved in the club since 1966. Eric played for the First team when only 14 years old and was a fearless full back (which means you never let them pass). In the 70s he managed the reserves and ran youth football teams when sons Paul and Ian were 10 and 12. A spell as Football Club Chairman didn’t dull his enthusiasm and was still hosting the half time hospitality until a few years ago. Carol was catering for cricket teas in the 60s when everything operated out of the thatched pavilion on the far side of the ground. Operating a catering business years later she was able to do the Football presentation dinners along with a number of Sportsman’s dinners. Eric and Carol had Ham and Tongue on their wedding day and guess what they were eating when I popped in today !!!!!! The Hubbard tradition carries on with sons Ian and Paul still involved with Grandchildren Harvey, Will and Eva all still either playing or helping out. The club wishes them both a very happy day and many more years together.
